Bend Restaurants

Food With PNW Flair

Northwest Cuisine

The Pacific Northwest has its own unique cuisine, making abundant use of salmon, wild mushrooms, berries, potatoes, and wild game like elk or venison. You’ll find all of these and more in many of Bend’s top restaurants specializing in this unique culinary style.

Start your day at Chow or the Victoian Cafe where locally-sourced ingredients create a unique Northwest twist on traditional dishes like eggs benedict or cottage potatoes. For lunch, visit the Pine Tavern, one of Bend’s most iconic eateries that opened in 1936. They’re best known for their prime rib, their mouthwatering sourdough scones, and for the two Ponderosa pines (one living, one not) jutting through the dining room ceiling.

If you like your Northwest fare blended with other culinary styles, check out the mix of Northwest and European dishes at Jackalope Grill and Ariana Restaurant. For a creative twist on East-meets-West, check out 5 Fusion to sample a mouthwatering melding of Asian and Pacific Northwest dishes prepared by a James Beard Award-nominated chef.

Looking to nab specialty meats to prepare in your own kitchen? Try local butchers like Primal Cuts, and the Meat Locker, or check out the Bend Farmer’s Market. You’ll also find unique meats like elk, bison, venison, rabbit sausage, and yak (yes, yak!) at the Bend Farmer’s Market and Central Oregon Locovore.
