Bend Wine Bars & Wineries

Bend has some of the best breweries in the United States, but most would agree that our wine culture is equally inspired.

Wine tasting in Bend embodies distinctive, fruitful, and diverse flavors with an array of sophisticated wine shops and bars, award-winning local wineries, and events celebrating Oregon’s vintages. We have plenty to offer, even to the most selective oenophile.

Ready to begin your wine tasting journey? If you are downtown, head to the Wine Shop and Beer Tasting Bar for wines from around the world by taste and the glass. The patio is also one of Bend’s best places to people watch. Just down the street is Good Drop Wine Shoppe. Browse their vast selection, ranging from Pacific Northwest specialties to rare vintage offerings. FERM & fare focuses on organic and responsibly farmed wines and serves up flights and small bites. Tucked away on the north side of town is Flights Wine Bar, a relaxed venue featuring a broad selection of curated wine flights, cocktails, and tasty happy hour fare, as well as a full dinner menu and special pairing events.

Continue on to the Old Mill District, where you can shop, sip and savor. Elixir Wine Group does triple duty as an importer, winery, and tasting room and offers wines from around the world. A short stroll away is Evoke Winery Tasting Room. This Hood River based winery sources its fruit from select vineyards in Oregon and Washington. Next on your list is Va Piano. They embody a simple philosophy: great wine is an invitation to slow down and relax. Va Piano focuses on small lot Cabernets and Syrahs, including their own Walla Walla Valley Estate Vineyards.

If you want to go straight to the source, check out a few vineyards in the area. Faith, Hope and Charity winery and vineyard is a true gem located in Terrebonne, Oregon, only a short drive from Bend. The vineyard and tasting room rests on 15 stunning acres where they are growing nine varieties of award-winning hybrid grapes. While you’re in the area, make sure to visit the Maragas Winery vineyard 25 miles north of Bend in Culver overlooking Smith Rock. They are open year-round for tastings and tours. Maragas produced the first wine made entirely of Central Oregon grapes in 2009, which earned a silver medal in the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

Of course, many of these wineries and tasting rooms are featured as Drinkable Diversions, part of the Bend Ale Trail, which takes you not only to wineries in the area but also to cideries, distilleries, and kombucha breweries in town.

Celebrate our local Pacific Northwest wines all October long with Bend Wine Month. Participating locations like Bledsoe Family Winery and Stoller Wine Bar welcome new guests and members alike with special pours or pricing to those joining the wine festivities. Check in for Bend Wine Month and work on your Drinkable Diversions prize at the same time.
