Bend has two nearby ski resorts boasting plenty of fresh powder and long runs. Both Mt. Bachelor and Hoodoo Ski Area offer boundless ski, snowboard, and cross-country ski trails. You can purchase your lift tickets at Mt. Bachelor or online and for Hoodoo, you’ll snag your lift tickets in person. For a little family fun, grab your sleds or for a some off the beaten path adventure grab your snowshoes or cross country skis and head for one of several sno-parks in the region.

Not in the Mood for Snow?

If playing in snow all day isn’t your jam, you’ll still find plenty to do in Bend this winter. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails at scenic spots like Smith Rock State Park or Pilot Butte, which is closed to cars in the winter. The Oregon Desert Trail in the Badlands is often snow-free, while a hike up Horse Ridge offers stunning views of the snow-capped Cascade Mountains.

Scope out Bend’s foodie scene with a stroll around ​Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District. Plan ahead by making reservations and checking hours at one of our award-winning restaurants for a bite to eat. Visit one of the many coffee shops for a warm mug of cocoa to sip while you stroll hand in hand embracing your snowmance.

Got the kids in tow? Bend has plenty of indoor activities for the whole family, from Museums and arcades, to trampoline parks and indoor go-kart tracks.
