ART IN THE HIGH DESERT ANNUAL FESTIVAL

Join us in Bend every August for the Art in the High Desert event being held in a grassy park along the Deschutes River, across from the Shops at the Old Mill, in Bend, Oregon.

The three-day event features more than 100 juried fine art and craft artists from the Pacific Northwest and across the country . Festival-goers can buy new original work that is at the caliber found at nationally recognized festivals such as Art in the Pearl (Portland, Oregon), Bellevue Festival of the Arts (Bellevue, Washington), Scottsdale Art Festival (Scottsdale, Arizona), and La Quinta Arts Festival (La Quinta, California). The spectrum of art available will include painting, ceramics, fiber, photography, sculpture, jewelry, furniture, glass and more. Fine Art Fair SourceBook compiles an annual list of more than 600 art festivals in the nation, and according to the guide, Art in the High Desert ranks at #14 for fine art sales.

Art in the High Desert is produced by a non-profit community-based organization to support the visual arts in Central Oregon. For more information, visit the Art in the High Desert website.

TIN PAN ALLEY ART COLLECTION

Bend’s latest public art endeavour includes unique artwork in alleyways and parking garage walls around Downtown Bend. Besides sprucing up these spaces, the art is designed to engage visitors and residents in Bend’s public spaces. The Tin Pan Alley Art Collection debuted in May 2013 with four artists who created custom masterpieces on plywood using materials ranging from acrylic paint to spray paint. Jesse Roberts, Mark Rada, Andrew Wachs, and Megan McGuinness were the first four artists selected for the Tin Pan Alley Art Collection.
